Our daughter is only 3 months and 3 weeks but I wish I had looked into our child care options much earlier.
In Prince Edward Island, it is recommended to register as soon as you find out you are pregnant to ensure you get a spot for your child at the Early Childhood Centre of your choice. However, there are other options available: private centres, home daycares and babysitters, family and friends.
I have been posting here and there on forums and FB groups to find out what were the best daycares around according to parents on the island.
Unfortunately, my daughter is on the waiting list for all three Early Childhood Centres we have applied. And one of the “school” we were interested in doesn’t take children before they turn 16 months old. I am hopeful though, and will make sure she is looked after and taught to by wonderful people !
What were the reasons why you chose your current child care giver? Was it location, price, loyalty (you knew someone), or reputation? Please share your experiences and recommendations with us !
