Sixtine was only about two months last year when we first celebrated Christmas as a family so I decided to make it something fun now that she is a “big girl”. I looked online for a few ideas and decided on making cinnamon and apple sauce ornaments. It is very easy to make and smells delicious. I am very happy with the results and hope they will be enjoyed by all. I added glitter to add a little wintery feeling to them.
- 2 and a half regular-sized bottles of cinnamon.
- 2/3 of 2 single serve applesauce.
- glitter glue.
Mix cinnamon and applesauce – add more or less cinnamon or applesauce if the mix is too dry or too wet. When dough is formed, flatten dough ( I used my hands but you can use anything you like, rolling pin, glass…) and starts making shapes using cookie cutters of your choice. Let dry for approximately 48 hours making sure both sides are dry by flipping them. You can also put them in the oven on a low setting for about 2 hours. Once dry, add glitter, ribbon and hang to your tree or wrap it as a gift.
*I didn’t use glue for this recipe but you could add some to the mix to prevent potential breaking.
